Still no?
Still no?
After being delayed for two weeks, my menses finally arrived. I may be sad because this means no baby for now but I was relieved as well. I haven't been delayed this long so It was bothering me. I was wondering if something is wrong with me. So I guess, although not pregnant, at least I know I'm still healthy. A doctor-friend of mine told me, this has something to do with my hormonal imbalance... stress perhaps.
So for the meantime, we are still trying....
Someday, it will come.

Frustrations
Sometimes your life goes into a standstill. Example, no matter how hard you try to find work, you still cannot. 1) Because the first time, someone called you up regarding employment with their company, you did not understand each other. 2) Because it’s Ramadhan already and nobody is hiring during Ramadhan. Another example, you wanted to get pregnant but you are not sure whether you are or not. 1) You are 11 days delayed and yet your 2 tests says negative. 2) Because although you are experiencing some signs of pregnancy, they are also signs of incoming period. And another one, you wanted to lose weight but could not. 1) Because you are afraid that you are pregnant, dieting may result in malnourishment and is bad for the baby. 2) That if you exercise, it may be bad for the baby since this would be your first time, you are still not aware as to the extent of your ability to do some exercise without harming your baby. Ahhhh, this is just so frustrating… My life is in a STANDSTILL… and all I can do is to wait… I know there are a lot to be thank for… but now I just want to let it all out….

My little one
My little one,
Are you really there? I’m sorry if sometimes Mommy loses her faith. You see we had two tests already that came out negative. Mommy was quite sad and disappointed the second time. Mommy has seen the same result for six times already and she’s wondering when she’d ever see a different result – something that would make her and Daddy very happy. We’re quite excited to see you, you know. We even have a name if you are a boy or a girl. Daddy prefers you to be a boy but that doesn’t mean he would love you less if you are a girl. Same goes with Mommy. We will love you wholly little one. But right now Daddy and Mommy are keeping their fingers crossed that a few days from now when we will conduct the test again, we could see that two lines we so wanted to see. Mommy is 13 days delayed now. May I ask a favor from you then little one? Would you help make Daddy and Mommy the happiest people in earth? Will you make your presence know to us very soon little one? We love you darling.
This is me… Your very excited Mommy

My dear body, are you telling me something?
I am supposed to have my monthly period on August 3, 2010. The day after, I tested for pregnancy but it came out negative. Today is August 10, 2010 so that makes me a week delayed.
My period is basically regular. There are just a few months where I was delayed for a week. So having a delay for a week now is for me not really a sure sign that I am pregnant.
I am experiencing tenderness of breasts but I always get that before I have my menstruation.
I have headaches from time to time that makes me just want to lay down in my bed. However, I know that there are many reasons why you could be having a headache.
I am experiencing lower back pains these past few days but it might just be my period.
I felt nauseous but then again there are many reasons to it.
I am hungry from time to time so I eat.
My belly seems to be bigger but that might be attributed to the fact that I eat a lot.
Now dear body, are you telling me something?
Are these indications that a little someone is inside my tummy now?
Could this be it? Is our long wait over?
I can't wait for tomorrow!
Tomorrow, we will be having our test again.
I really hope this is it!

Some childhood dreams do come true
When I was young, I wanted to be a housewife.
Then I grew up, I was an achiever that I wanted to be the most successful woman in the world. I graduated First Honor during elementary school, Valedictorian during high school and received a lot of awards, honors, recognitions along the way. I wanted to be a top caliber lawyer accountant - one of those in the world. Big dreams for a small lady like me.
Come college, I mellowed down. I did not fail in any of my subjects but I was not excelling too. In some twist of faith, it was not accountancy I took but Civil Engineering - a male dominated field.
After passing the board exam on November 2004, I applied for a job in our place. Knowing that oftentimes you get hired not by your qualifications but by your connections in the province, I wanted to venture and find my place under the sun somewhere. But to do so would require enough money for a start. I did worked as casual employee in our municipal hall then when i had enough money I went to Manila.
When I was in Manila, I did not find a job immediately. Fortunately, my then boyfriend found a job for me in one of their subcons. I had great time while I was there. I wasn't complaining about the small salary - I was contented and happy.
One day, I got a call from a company which I applied to when I was still looking for a job. At first I was hesitant to go because of the responsibilities that were in my shoulder in our company. I even postponed going to that company for an interview.
That interview landed me a second job. I resigned from my first company and worked in JGC Philippines. Everything was better in JGC. Got very nice friends along the way and I was happy. I indeed have been a career woman for so long. Not the career woman that I dreamed when I was young but a career woman nonetheless.
July 2009, my boyfriend proposed to me.
February 2010, we were married.
June 2010, I resigned from my job, leaving everything that has been permanent in my life for almost 5 years. It was sad. But I had to.
July 2010, I arrived in Abu Dhabi and has never been this happy in my life.
Now, my original dream has come true, I am now a HOUSEWIFE.

Welcome to Abu Dhabi
July 4, 2010 at 11:45PM (UAE time), I arrived at the Abu Dhabi Airport after hours aboard the Etihad airplane. The flight was okay. There were no air pockets or anything. In fact, I dozed on and off dreamland. I even got to watch Sherlock Holmes which I never got the chance to watch while I was in the Philippines. My first glance of Abu Dhabi was while I was at the airplane (I was in a window seat) and I found it beautiful from above. The streets were wide, lined beautifully with lamp posts. There are vegetations! Who said there are no plants in UAE? There are tall buildings as well. Kuya Nestor and my husband fetched me at the airport. As we were driving going to the flat I learned some things a newcomer should probably know... 1) Many establishmets are either named after Zayed or Khalifa. Both are rulers of Abu Dhabi. Zayed was the father and the first president of UAE and Khalifa is the son-the present ruler. 2) Finding a parking area in Abu Dhabi is quite a challenge. Old buildings don't have parking spaces or a basement. There are only parking provisions around the buildings. The city was planned in the 1970s for an estimated maximum population of 600,000, therefore way back parking space was not a concern. However, according to the Abu Dhabi Department of Planning and Economy, in 2006 the population of the emirate was 1,463,491.And almosteveryone has a car! 3) There are many rotundas in Abu Dhabi. 4) Since it was summer when I arrived, it was soooooooooooooo hot that just by walking outside will probably cost you a pail of sweat! hehehe. Got me excited for winter. There are still a lot of things to know and learn about Abu Dhabi... I can't wait to do so and explore everything there is in Abu Dhabi... besides, I will be here for a long time.

In His Perfect Time
We prayed and we hoped… God said, “Yes, but not now.” Then I asked again “But when my God?”. He said “In perfect time my child.” I said “We could have been so happy Lord.” He said “You will be.. in perfect time.”
My husband and I have been so excited to become parents that we did our best to become pregnant. Even our parents and relatives have been excited for us as well.
When my husband went back abroad, we were hoping and praying that we have succeeded – that we will become parents soon.
I treated myself as being pregnant. Ate right, slept right and avoided any physical activity that may cause of me not getting pregnant. However, much to my dismay, my monthly period arrived on the dot as usual.
I was quite disappointed.
It could have been perfect if I was pregnant…
But I never lose hope. God has greater plans for us… in His perfect time.
‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. – Jeremiah 29:11

A Love Story
Written to be read at the wedding reception during the couple's grand entrace... Poly and Ruby met in Mindanao State University where they were blockmates. Theirs was not love at first sight. In fact, they barely knew each other. It was on their third year at the university that they became close. Little did they know that the friendship would lead to a more exciting, refreshing, complicated yet simple relationship. On February 14, 2003, Poly invited Ruby on a Valentine’s concert in school. After 3 days, Poly said “the magic words”. February 27, 2003 at the silent halls of the Mindanao State University Library, Ruby said “Yes, let’s see if this would work.” And work, it did. According to Ruby, she believes Poly is her answered prayer. December 2002, Ruby completed the (9) nine mornings. It is said that if you do so, you are entitled to one wish. Ruby wished for 3 simple signs if the time would come that she would find “The One”. 1) That whoever is the man; they will become close friends first. 2) That whoever he’ll be, he would be more intelligent than she is. 3) Whoever he will be, he must not ask her if he can court her, instead he would just do. Needless to say, that was exactly what happened with Poly. Poly believes that Ruby is his lucky charm. After they became a couple, Poly became inspired more than ever to do well with his studies. He soared high on his quest for success. He won quiz bees, founded and led organizations, achieved great grades and topped the class, graduated cum laude and ranked 10th place on the 2004 Civil Engineers Licensure Examination. Moreover, he was very happy with Ruby. After working in Manila for 2 years, their eyes have been opened on the harsh realities of life. They know that it would take them a long time before they are confident and financially stable enough to settle down considering the pay and the way of life in Manila. Therefore on May 2007, Poly left for Dubai to find greener pastures and to jumpstart their dreams. Meanwhile, Ruby was assigned to work in Japan on January 2008. Being apart, their love for each other was tested by time, people and the loneliness distance brought about. Still, they stood strong and fought to keep each other. July 7, 2009, on the 27th birthday of Ruby, Poly surprised her through email by asking her if she would marry him in Japanese and Arabic language. It took them six years and five months as girlfriend and boyfriend before deciding to tie the knot. Exactly seven years after they said yes to each other, they said yes to together forever earlier today… Happy 7th Anniversary Poly and Ruby as a couple and welcome to married life Mr. and Mrs. Louie James T. Bendanillo.

Just to be with you
You'd think by now I am used to this-it's almost 4 years that you are working abroad. But no... everyday when I wake up, the emptiness sits in again and again.
You are the last thing on my mind when I go to sleep and you are the first when I wake up.
Then I question myself... "Are we doing the right thing by being apart?" Back then, when we discussed that I will stay here in the Philippines, it somehow made sense...
But now, I don't know anymore... " Why I am still here? What am I doing here?".
I realized that time is indeed precious. When it's gone, you could never take it back. We never know know when God will call us to be by HIs side. It maybe today, tomorrow, the week after, 10 years, 20 years... only God knows... I don't want to wake up one day (or not wake up) with only regrets that we spent much of our days apart.
There are only a few things that I most desire and one of these is just to be with you. To wake up with you, sleep with you, kiss you, hug you, love you and let you know how happy I am just by being with you.

He chose me
Me and my ex-boyfriend for 7 yrs (my husband now) has been through a lot .
The biggest problem by far is when we were apart because he had to go abroad to work.
It took us two years before he met a woman who he was lonely enough to cheat me with.
I don't blame him... I blame the woman. He was a lonely man and having someone to tempt him is just enough to succumb to temptation. Why do I blame the woman? Because I think she is low enough to get in a relationship with someone who SHE KNOWS very well is currently involved. She might reason out that she fell in love. But for me, falling in and out of love is a CHOICE. She made a choice of going after an involved man. By choosing that, she also made a choice of hurting other people. We call that relationship wrecker. I don't really know what motivated her. Maybe she came from a very bad break-up with another man. Maybe she was dumped in favor of other woman that's why she is taking a revenge on other women. Maybe she thought dumping me would be the next move of my then boyfriend. Maybe this time, she would be the one to be chosen. Maybe she thinks she is better than me... But she doesn't know me. She doesn't know our history. And she definitely is not better than me!
